The First Cohort

We kicked off the program with our first meeting this last Sunday. Everyone showed up with excitement and enthusiasm to get started. I was shocked that so many knives were brought to be sharpened. I expected to be sharpening customer's knives for about an hour. It ended up being over four hours going at full tilt. Since this was the first meeting, it was mostly me doing the sharpening, but the mentees will gradually learn new steps and do those first while I finish the knives. Eventually, they'll be doing most, if not all, of the work. 

We're off to a great start and I can't wait to see how this group grows as a cohort and as cutlers.
